"By the frigid, windy great lakes of Toronto, Canada situated on a broad sloping plateau intersected by an extensive network of rivers and deep ravines, lies HOLY MOUNT. At the summit, four hermits have been gathering for years celebrating Heavy Psych ceremonies, channeling the mystery of the great north. Their last recorded ritual, released early this year by White Dwarf, titled 'The Drought', shows the quartet comprised of Danijel, Brandon, Troy and Clayton at his best with heavy doomy drones, ghostly enchantings and superb guitar riffs/solos filled with fuzz reverberating through the Black Mountains above into the Dead Meadows below.
With only one route to the top, it's a challenging expedition even for the most experienced climbers, walking on a thin line between life and death in a 40 minutes hike through extremly treacherous terrain. Blindsided by the majestic peak pulling you in with a welcoming intro, you are quickly reminded with sheer power, why this mount is as charming as dangerous... the transitions, at these altitudes, explode like lightning bolts on a big storm, triggering massive sludgy landslides dragging everything on their way down! Watch your step and try to follow the lows of a rowdy bass and the highs of the entrancing drum beats intertwined with sublime layers of psych guitars and hypnotic thin vocals coming from above as the compositions, shrouded in a dark ambiance, oscillate brilliantly between slow motion and free fall speed. Along the way, breathless soundscapes unveil all the stunning contrasts that make this place so magical, yet so brutal.
So, you might consider returning down soon, while you can or end up like me, stranded on the “death zone” for weeks! Take it all in and good luck on your way down, knowing for a fact, that most deaths occur during descents..."
